Three weeks after it released iOS 6 beta 2, Apple has unleashed a third-beta of the next-generation version of iOS to developers. The new beta is currently available as an over-the-air update to those running iOS 6 beta 2, and the new version should be hitting Apple’s iOS Developer Center shortly. It is unclear what changes this new beta holds, but they likely revolve around bug fixes and performance enhancements. During its Platforms State of the Union presentation at WWDC yesterday, Apple showed off more features for developers that didn’t make the cut for its publicly streamed keynote event. One announcement made for developers is a redesigned version of iTunes Connect— the web app developers use to upload and maintain content on the App Store. On top of a redesigned interface pictured above, Apple has revamped the dashboard with more info for developers about apps and a new analytics feature that provides data points like how many users visited store pages, how many users went onto purchase an app, and how many remained active over time....

Next week, Apple TV+ series ‘The Oprah Conversation’ will feature an interview between Oprah Winfrey and former president Barack Obama. The discussion will revolve around Obama’s upcoming memoir, ‘A Promised Land’. The episode will debut on November 17th at 9AM Eastern Time, the same day as the book’s release. While Apple doesn’t reveal much in the way of specifics about usage of Apple Pay, consumer spending analytics company TXN has pulled some data from a panel of over three million consumers. It says that analysis of credit card bills from banks which distinguish Apple Pay transactions suggest that usage of the payment method grew by slightly over 50% in the 12 months ending December 2016. The company also revealed the most popular bricks and mortar retailers and websites among Apple Pay users …...

After several preview releases to testers, Apple has pushed yet another OS X 10.10.2 build to pre-release Yosemite testers through the Updates section of the Mac App Store. Following the event today, Apple has not released any new hardware but it has rebranded the 2015 fourth-generation Apple TV as the Apple TV HD. The set-top box, formerly known as simply ‘Apple TV’, now has a better name that it distinguishes it from the newer Apple TV 4K. With the introduction of the Apple TV+ original content offering, Apple now has four products that start with the name ‘Apple TV’....

It is a fact that all mobile phones emit a certain level of radiation. Yes, even the iPhone. That’s why a company named tawkon developed an application to measure the amount of radiation coming through your iPhone. According to the company the application was praised by Apple executives for its graphically appealing design, use of non-private APIs, and overall functionality. The problem is that it was still rejected. This is not the first time an application was given a blessing from an Apple executive then still rejected (think Google Voice)....

Four days after releasing the third beta version, Apple has released the fourth iOS 11.1 beta for iPhone and iPad. iOS 11.1 beta includes the return of 3D Touch gestures for multitasking as well as hundreds of new emoji characters including “Woman with Headscarf, Bearded Person, Breastfeeding, Zombie” and plenty more. Apple has also released the fourth beta version of watchOS 4.1 beta with Apple Music and Radio streaming. We’ll be looking for Apple Pay Cash which has recently been in testing as well as any other new features in the latest iOS 11....

Apple has just started seeding watchOS 3.1 beta 3 to developers today. Those looking to grab the new release can head over to the Watch app on their iPhones, select General and then Software Update. The watchOS 3.1 beta is available to download as a Configuration Profile from the Apple developer center for newer users looking to test out the upcoming system. While it sounds a bit too early, as several previous leaks pointed to an October launch, the date does aligns with a recent 9to5Mac’s report which saw the event happening in mid-September. The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg also have now corroborated with a few of their own sources and are now claiming that September 9 is indeed when the next iPhones will be unveiled. As for the date, September 9 is an auspicious day for the Cupertino giant....

Earlier this week it was reported that Apple had put a policy in place that would have prevented the company from hiring people who been convicted of felonies within the past seven years to aid in the construction of its new headquarters. According to the original report, fewer than five people had actually been denied jobs because of their criminal backgrounds. Even so, union leaders sent letters to CEO Tim Cook at the beginning of the year asking for the policy to be lifted, but to no avail....

Kandji is one of the newcomers in the Apple enterprise market, but they’ve made a name for themselves in a short amount of time since it was founded in 2018. Today, they’re announcing a $60 million Series B funding round that is led by Felicis and includes investments from SVB Capital, Greycroft, Okta Ventures, and The Spruce House Partnership. Kandji offers midsize and large enterprises a zero-touch deployment solution for Apple’s products including iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV....

Two days after the Financial Times reported that the European Commission was about to come down hard on Apple’s alleged deal with the Irish government to reduce its tax liabilities, Apple has made a statement to Business Insider claiming that it has received “no selective treatment.” Apple is proud of its long history in Ireland and the 4,000 people we employ in Cork. A new report filed by Reuters points out Apple’s favorability among top “green” mutual funds as the Cupertino company continues to improve its environmental report card. The report cites Apple as the top holding by the Parnassus fund, Calvert Equity Portfolio, and Green Century Balanced Fund, and says Apple is the third-largest holding in the Pax World Balanced Fund. Apple has increasingly bolstered its environmental track record in recent years. Probably most notable, though, is something Cook said at a recent shareholder meeting: “If you want me to do things only for ROI reasons, you should get out of this stock....

After officially announcing that WWDC would take place June 13th through June 17th in April, Apple today has officially invited members of the press to its kickoff keynote address. The keynote will take place on June 13th at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Like usual, the keynote will commence at 10AM PT/ 1PM ET (via TechInsider). Apple today introduced a new redesigned iMac with the M1 chip, but there’s also another Mac that received an upgrade after the special “Spring Loaded” event. The company has quietly updated the M1 Mac mini with an optional 10 Gigabit Ethernet port, which was previously only available on the Intel version of the Mac mini. When customizing a M1 Mac mini on Apple’s online store, customers can now order the computer with a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port, which is faster than the traditional Gigabit Ethernet port....

Today it was revealed that for the holiday season Google will be giving its employees a Nexus 5 or a Nexus 7. In past years, Apple has not given its retail employees a significant gift for the holiday, though employees have been given hoodies. The first gift to Apple Retail Employees was $10 off of a $50 iTunes gift card. This isn’t something to brag about considering a lot of stores offer this promotion frequently....
