Flipboard has finally released its excellent iPhone app (what better way to start this morning?) and Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller is clearly one of avid fans of the social news reader app. He just posted this short message via his Twitter account, approving of Flipboard for iPhone: Couldn’t agree more. According to Flipboard CEO Mike McCue, Flipboard is now installed on one in ten iPads and has been downloaded more than 4....

From all those millions upon millions of sales, the company made a revenue of $35.3 billion, which relates to somewhere around $6.9 billion in profit. Not bad at all, considering the fact that these numbers are more or less made by iPhones, as the iPad didn’t achieve as many sales as expected, but still a number that Samsung and others is definitely craving for. We learned earlier this month that Apple’s first ever retail store in Taiwan would be located in the landmark Taipei 101 skyscraper, with the opening date later confirmed to be July 1st. A couple of days before the official opening, Apple has shared a few photos of the store, which of course features the redesigned interior that is now standard for new and refurbished stores … Apple is again emphasising its rebranded workshops, Today at Apple, noting that the store will offer more than 60 different ones on ‘photography & video, art & design, music, coding and more....

Apple this evening has voiced opposition towards President Trump’s recent ruling to roll back protections for transgender kids in schools. This isn’t the first time Apple has spoken out against a decision from Trump, having previously distanced itself from the administration’s travel ban. In a statement to Axios, Apple stated that it believes everyone should be able to thrive in an environment that is free of discrimination and stigma. The company went on to say that it believes transgender students should be treated as equals and that it disagrees with any effort to limit rights and protections....

Airing today is a brand-new TV advertisement touting the abilities of the iPad. The ad is in a serious tone and is voiced over by a quote from the film Dead Poet’s Society. On Sunday, Apple debuted a new “Jump” ad for AirPods Pro, touting that the versatility of the wireless earbuds help you “turn the world into your playground.” Alongside this new ad, Apple is also running a “Jump” campaign on TikTok, teaming up with popular creators to promote AirPods Pro… Apple has an official TikTok account, but it’s not very active aside from running advertising campaigns. The new “Jump” campaign focused on AirPods Pro is slightly different, though, as Apple is encouraging other TikTok users to get involved by creating their own videos....

A brief Digitimes report suggests that Taiwan is one of the next countries in line to get Apple Pay, possibly by the end of the year. Four banks are expected to support the service … Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission has started accepting applications from banks for providing Apple Pay mobile payment services and Taiwan users will be able to apply for using Apply Pay at the end of 2016 at the earliest....

Apple’s next plans to expand its data centers in the U.S. are for a facility to be built in Waukee, Iowa. As reported by The Des Moines Register, the news broke when tomorrow’s agenda for the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s meeting was published. Following this morning’s release of the delayed AirPods, Apple has published a new usage guide for the Apple AirPods. The guide drills down into the basics of setting up and using the new AirPods out of the box. With iOS 10, Apple introduced a new system of pairing their Bluetooth headsets that included the new W1 chip. Instead of going through the traditional Bluetooth settings to pair the AirPods, simply opening the AirPods’ charging case next to the iPhone while the phone is unlocked will being the pairing process....

A day after releasing the third public beta of OS X 10.11.2 to developers, Apple this evening has released the third public beta of the operating system to public beat testers. Beta 3 of OS X 10.11.2 comes just a week after Apple released beta 2 to testers. The OS X 10.11.2 betas have not included many notable changes on the forefront, with Apple likely focusing on improving stability and performance under-the-hood with such a minor update....

Following yesterday’s release of a new update to the Apple Developer app with a macOS version, Apple today revamped the App Store Connect portal with a modern design just a few days before WWDC 2020. The App Store Connect is the place where developers can manage their iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS apps. From there, they can send new apps to the App Store, upload screenshots, change the app description, read users’ reviews, and more....

Apple has made the first betas of iOS 11, watchOS 4, tvOS 11, and macOS 10.13 available. The updates are available to registered to developers now via Apple’s online developer portal. Additionally, the Xcode 9 beta is now available as well. Apple has just released beta 1 of macOS Sierra 10.12.4 and it comes with one particular headline feature, it brings the same Night Shift feature seen on iOS to the Mac for the first time. This means Mac users can now set a schedule to have their display colors slowly shift hues over time, displaying less blue light as night time approaches. Night Shift on Mac changes the colors of the integrated Retina Display on a MacBook as well as any connected external displays....

Apple today released a brand new app for iOS devices called Music Memos that allows songwriters to quickly and easily record audio and develop song ideas. Apple’s press release for the new app notes that Music Memos was inspired by the fact that many musicians have long used the iOS Voice Memos app as a way of quickly capturing ideas in audio on their iPhones and iPads: So like Apple’s old Voice Memos app, you can quickly start recording snippets of audio, but the Music Memos app adds in features for musicians including automatic notation so you can see the chords you’re playing....

We have seen several signals that iPhone 11 sales are faring much better than the equivalent iPhone XS and iPhone XR sales period last year. Nikkei Asian Review is also reporting the same, quoting supply chain sources: ‘the autumn is so far much busier than we expected’. Apple has apparently asked suppliers to increase production of the iPhone 11 by about 10%, which translates to an additional 8 million units....
