Apple filed documents today with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to announce the next annual shareholder meeting held at the company’s headquarters on Feb. 27, 2013. The proxy statement revealed CEO Tim Cook’s compensation in 2012 equaled less than $4.2 million, but it also detailed six proposals shareholders would vote on at the meeting. The notable proposals include the election of the company’s board and whether Apple should have a “Board Committee on Human Rights”....

Downtime on Apple’s Developer Center led to concern that it may have been hacked after a number of developers noted that their mailing address had been changed to one in Russia. Apple has now issued a statement saying that this is not the case, and the issue – suspicious as it appeared – was in fact due to a bug … The statement implied that no account details had actually been changed, but a glitch led to the same Russian address being displayed to multiple developers....

Even though Apple’s Health team is reportedly dealing with some internal conflict and departures, the company is still making progress in the area as it has created a new partnership with major electronic health records (EHR) vendor Allscripts. The deal will allow Apple’s Health Records software to interface with Allscripts’ platform and devices. Reported by Healthcare Dive, the deal will let Apple users view their healthcare data that comes from Allscripts in one place in the iOS Health app even if it comes from multiple healthcare providers....

Following a report from The Financial Times earlier today, Bloomberg has now published its own report detailing certain aspects of Apple TV+. According to the report, Apple is targeting a November launch of Apple TV+ and “weighing” a price of $9.99 per month. Apple itself has not yet offered any details on price, and this Bloomberg report is the first we’ve heard of a $9.99 price point. That places it above the $6....

Peloton members will soon be able to turn the Apple TV into a living room fitness instructor. Subscribers were notified on Tuesday that a new Peloton app for the Apple TV is on the way. The company recently released Chromecast support for smart TVs after launching a Fire TV and Apple Watch app in December. This may not be the first time there have been rumors that Apple Pay is coming to the Czech Republic, but there’s more evidence that Apple’s mobile payment service is actually about to launch in the country. According to a local report, Apple Pay could go live in the Czech Republic as soon as Tuesday, February 19. The latest Apple Pay country rumor comes from a site that says its source was employed by a company working to bring Apple Pay to the country....

According to newly surfaced screenshots of a modified version of the recently released iOS 8.1 beta, it appears that the upcoming iPad line will have some amount of Apple Pay capability and a Touch ID sensor to match. Additionally, screenshots of a hidden Passbook settings page have surfaced showing what it might look like when adding a credit card for use with Apple Pay. If an iPhone or iPad stops working, it’s often necessary to restore the device’s firmware using a Mac or PC. That used to work well in the past, but it became complicated as the devices are more independent of a computer now. Apple has released iOS 6.1.3 beta 2 to developers for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The first beta was known as iOS 6.1.1 beta 1, but it has been renamed to iOS 6.1.3 due to the recent public releases of iOS bug fix updates. LinkedIn updates suggest that Apple is beefing up its mapping efforts by poaching senior staff from Here – the map technology company which Nokia once hoped to sell to Apple. Now co-owned by German automotive companies Audi, BMW, and Daimler, Business Insider spotted half a dozen hires over the last few months from Here. Interestingly, the roles appear to be based in Berlin, where Apple does not officially have a base but was once the site of Apple Car rumors …...

In a report by Bloomberg, Apple is said to be preparing an update to its iOS Apple Store app, where customers can buy Apple’s hardware and accessories online. The new update will feature recommendations for suggested purchases, in a new ‘For You’ tab (mirroring Apple Music). According to the Bloomberg report, the new recommendations will be part of a wider update to the Apple Store app. Right now, the design of the Apple Store app for iPhone and iPad is quite distinct with the iPad app favouring interactive photo galleries for presentation....

A new report from Bloomberg indicates that Apple’s global mobile market share gains can be attributed to Samsung missing analysts’ shrinking sales estimates. As the rising popularity of cheaper smartphones erodes Samsung’s profit margin, the company continues to struggle to meet industry estimates. According to the report, Samsung also faces a new threat from Apple in China. The LG UltraFine 5K Display is no longer available from the Apple Store — at least for now. The LG 5K monitor that was designed in partnership with Apple to support all features of macOS is now listed as “Currently Unavailable” on Apple’s website, following a considerable shipping estimate a few days ago. We have verified Apple’s website from different countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Brazil, and in all of these, the LG UltraFine 5K Display is not available....

Following the release of iOS 10.3.2 to the public last month, Apple this evening has stopped signing iOS 10.3.1. This means that users will no longer be able to downgrade to iOS 10.3.1, and instead will be required to remain on iOS 10.3.2…. Following the launch of Apple’s “Start Something New” campaign on its website featuring artwork created on Mac and iOS devices, Apple is now transforming its retail stores into temporary art galleries showcasing art from the campaign. Apple is planning to announce support for Apple Pay in the United Kingdom during its Monday Worldwide Developers Conference kickoff keynote, according to a report from The Telegraph. The report adds that the service will go live in the U.K. within two months. Mike Cowan, a Senior VP at MasterCard, told the publication that his company is “absolutely” ready to support Apple Pay abroad.
