Apple has officially announced iOS 10 at WWDC 2016. Craig Federighi started the announcement by sharing that iOS 10 features ten new tent pole features. The first starts with the user experience. This starts with an all-new lock screen. The overall look has also been refreshed. Control Center looks new, the lock screen now has widgets, and 3D Touch features are added to the lock screen. Widgets also appear in the Today view as usual plus the 3D Touch quick actions menu for new iPhones....

The availability of Apple Pay at sporting events continues to expand today. Square has announced that it is partnering with the Washington Nationals to bring its Caviar Pickup service and Square Terminal platforms to Nationals Park for the 2019 Major League Baseball season. Through this partnership, fans at National Stadium will be able to place orders through Square’s Caviar app for skip-the-line pickup. In the app, users can place food and drink orders, pay via Apple Pay, and receive a notification when the food is ready to pickup....

Apple has released the second beta version of iOS 9.2 to users running the iOS public beta. The pre-release software was pushed out to developers yesterday alongside new versions of OS X, Xcode, and tvOS. In this new beta, users will find the ability to take advantage of AT&T’s NumberSync offering, which allows other devices such as a Mac or iPad to make and receive phone calls using a customer’s iPhone number without actually being connected to the phone....

Following reports yesterday that Apple’s suppliers are prepping an HDTV in 32-inch and 37-inch variants for a summer 2012 launch, a new report from DigiTimes today suggested Apple will use its own custom chips, similar to the A5 chips found in iPhone 4S and iPad 2. According to the report, three manufacturers are currently bidding to win contracts to provide components for Apple’s smart TV including: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Siliconware Precision Industries, and Advanced Semiconductor Engineering....

As previously announced by Tim Cook earlier this year, Apple is preparing to open its first retail store in Turkey with a new store currently under construction in Istanbul. The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple has picked up around 21,000 square feet of space inside the Zorlu shopping center between Burberry and Louis Vuitton stores. The store is expected to open in early 2014 and would make for the 13th country that Apple currently operates at least one retail store in....

Earlier today, AT&T announced that it saw the best iPhone demand in two years. The phones have received immense interest today, despite Apple Online Store issues. T-Mobile’s systems have been crunched due to the demand, meaning sales representatives have had to resort to pen and paper to reserve iPhones for customers....

Apple has replaced its iPad in Business apps website with a new site that is much simpler and more direct. The new page highlights multiple specific use cases for which a business could use an iPad, then presents specific applications to complete those tasks. The old website was more cluttered and less specific. Apple is readying a pair of notable improvements for Apple Store Genius Bars to be rolled out over the next couple of months, according to sources. Currently, Apple Stores allocate a fixed amount of time to each customer per Genius Bar appointment: 10 minutes for iOS devices and 15 minutes for Macs. If a customer’s issue requires more than that time amount, the customer is typically asked to book a successive appointment....

Last we heard, Apple was being threatened with closure of its Italian operations if it did not make necessary changes to its warranty policies following an investigation by the Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato. The authorities had previously fined Apple $1.2 million, claiming the company failed to inform consumers about a two-year warranty mandatory by EU law. According to Pacific Crest’s research with component manufacturers, Apple’s orders already indicate a new device. According to the research, the materials would set Apple back around $200. The device would cost a bit over $200, which would mean it would get to the market at around $299—quite a good price. Apple will be offering a limited-edition set of Apple Watch bands for the 2016 Olympics. As reported by GQ, Apple will begin selling Apple Watch bands that depict the flags of 14 different countries when the games kick-off in August. According to a new report from Japanese paper Diamond Online, Apple may be on the way to using Panasonic’s LCDs for its devices. Panasonic has reportedly dropped out of the TV-set LCD business, and it wants to move to making LCDs for smaller devices like tablets, handsets, laptops, desktops, and more. It has provided “sample high resolution LCD panels for Apple,” and Apple is said to “be satisfied with the samples....
