Apple today released the second beta version of the upcoming iOS 9.1 software update to developers. The update includes stability fixes and performance enhancements for the recent iOS 9 release, which left many users stuck with problems using their phones.

The update also includes a variety of brand-new emoji characters.

Users running iOS 9.1 beta 1 can update directly through Software Update panel in the stock Settings app, while users currently running a different version of iOS can download the update from Apple’s developer center.

The new build number is 13B5119e. The previous build was 13B5110e. We’ll keep this post updated with any additional changes we find.

Apple also published a new beta version of Xcode 7.1 with support for iOS 9.1.

Contact photos toggle for Messages Users on supported devices can now choose whether or not to show contact photos in the Messages app. Previously the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus showed these by default.
