Apple’s Vice President of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson announced today that she will be speaking at the Bay Area Women’s Summit next week on June 21st. The event is held in partnership with the Women’s Foundation of California and will be hosted at Moscone Center North.

The purpose of the Bay Area Women’s Summit is to have a “conversation on advancing economic empowerment for women to ensure that they and their families succeed and thrive.”

The conference will be headlined by Edwin Lee, Mayor of San Francisco, and Libby Schaaf, Mayor of Oakland. Apple’s Lisa Jackson joins a long list of speakers who will be present at the event, including executives from the technology, media, healthcare, and education industries. Several government officials will also be at the event, including Senior Advisor to President Obama Valerie B. Jarrett and Treasurer Rosie Rios.

Additionally, Instagram COO Marne Levine and Pandora’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion Lisa Lee will also be speakers at the event.

At Apple, Lisa Jackson has been working closely with Tim Cook on a variety of issues. Jackson has been key to Cook’s idea of Apple leaving the world better than it was found.

Last month, Jackson traveled to India to visit the iconic Barefoot College, where iPads and Macs are used to teach women in solar training programs. Jackson called this visit “powerful” and noted that it was “amazing” seeing the school in person.

The Bay Area Women’s Summit will be held on June 21st at Moscone Center North in San Francisco from 8:30AM to 4:30PM PT. The event will be streamed live on YouTube.
