Yesterday, we reported on a hacking incident by an Australian teenager, who downloaded about 90 GB of data from Apple servers.

Apple has given a statement to the press that confirms no personal customer data was exposed or compromised in this incident.

The Australian sixteen-year-old got access into a central Apple server multiple times over the course of a year. The exact nature of what was downloaded is still unclear.

The individual collected tens of gigabytes of confidential, secure, company files and saved them in a folder named ‘hacky hacky hack’.

Apple said that when it became aware of the illicit access, it reported its findings to the FBI, who passed the case to the Australian federal police.

The teenager has pleaded guilty in court to the crime and will be sentenced next month.

“We … want to assure our customers that at no point during this incident was their personal data compromised,” the spokesman said.
