In addition to reviving the iTunes Festival channel ahead of the music event, Apple has pushed out an additional channel on Apple TV. Showtime Anytime, the premium cable and satellite television network, is now available for streaming content on Apple TV. The channel includes free full episodes of select episodes of certain shows. In addition to acting as an on-demand channel, Showtime Anytime on Apple TV also supports viewing live broadcasts with an authenticated subscription to supported TV providers.

Supported TV providers include AT&T U-Verse, Bright House Networks, Comcast Xfinity, Cox, DIRECTV, Optimum, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, and a lengthy list of regional providers as well. In addition to a TV subscription, unlocking live TV and full content also requires an active subscription to the Showtime network.

Showtime Anytime is the latest channel to join the Apple TV lineup following the football network NFL Now channel just six days ago and the network FOX Now and financial channel CNBC less than one month ago. The update also includes new Swedish and Norwegian channels in those markets.

In addition to a list of premium movies for live viewing with an authenticated TV subscription, Showtime Anytime brings a list of shows like Californication, Dexter, Homeland, House of Lies, Ray Donovan, and The Tudors to Apple TV.
